The DAUK secures assurance from Charlie Massey that doctors will not be automatically erased from the register if convicted of gross negligence manslaughter

Replying to a letter sent to the GMC on the 1st of March, Charlie Massey has today confirmed that the GMC will not be seeking the power of automatic erasure in cases where a doctor has been convicted of manslaughter. In his letter Massey states “I can assure you that we are not seeking to extend our powers to make provision for automatic or unilateral erasure of a doctor convicted of GNM”.
