“So our question really is, if you have enough stock and you’ve solved the distribution problem by enlisting the army, what is the problem now?”
Dr Rinesh Parmar, DAUK Chair, spoke to Ian Payne about ongoing PPE shortages.
He said:
“We are now having to work with charities and donations to try and get those supplies to the frontline because they just aren’t reaching there from the government.
“I urge Matt Hancock again. Over the weekend more and more doctors, nurses and carers across the UK are going to face the situation where they are going to work and they may not have the right PPE. Now is the time that we really need to focus on their safety as they go in, day in day out, putting their lives on the line caring for their patients.”
