DAUK on BBC World Service: candour is what we deserve and people want

We feel frustrated that despite repeated assurance that there is enough PPE, our members and many other surveys by professional bodies have suggested that this is not the case.

There has been a lot of language around heroes. People don’t want to be referred to as heroes. They want to do this work, we want to do it, it is what we have chosen to do with our lives.

Candour, openness, and honesty about the problems facing us at the moment is what we deserve and what people want.
