Dr Jenny Vaughan wins first British International Doctors Association Award for outstanding services to BME doctors

DAUK’s new Law and Policy Officer Dr Jenny Vaughan has won a prestigious award from the British International Doctors Association for her work in gross negligence manslaughter. Dr Jenny Vaughan has worked tirelessly on behalf of two BME doctors convicted of gross negligence manslaughter, David Sellu and Hadiza Bawa-Garba. DAUK are incredibly proud of Jenny, and her expertise in law particularly in how gross negligence manslaughter is applied in England is a real asset to DAUK. Well done Jenny!

Parliamentary inquiry into gross negligence manslaughter, Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba and the GMC

After months of pressure on the Health Select Committee, from DAUK, David Nicholl, Alan Woodall GP Survival and others, a Parliamentary inquiry has now been announced.

Despite the request coming from the grassroots, disappointingly no doctors or organisations representing doctors have been invited to give evidence. However, the Health Select Committee will be hearing from Charlie Massey.
